Congress Venue
The ANR 2004 Conference will take place in the Magazzini del Cotone Congress Centre - former cotton warehouses in the Old Harbour - a scenic location which can be boasted by very few congress venues. An area - with its internationally famous Aquarium - designed by Renzo Piano, that is now a concourse of history, technology, culture and leisure. The Congress Centre is dedicated to conventions, exhibitions and related activities. It has 18 halls, each named after a particular wind. The Auditorium seats 1.400 and can be split into two mirror-image halves (Maestrale and Grecale Halls), with a theatre-like stage which can be adjusted to various heights. The other halls vary in seating capacity (260, 170, 140, 120, 100, 30) and some are modular. There are 8.500 m² of exhibition space and outdoor areas for various activities. With its state-of-the-art audio and visual systems, the Congress Centre offers the best of high-tech functionality without sacrificing any of the charm of the original structures brilliantly renovated by Renzo Piano.
